Align with its Community Service stream of the PICE Iloilo CARES-A-LOT framework, the PICE Iloilo Chapter officers and board of directors conducted a gift-giving initiative to children with special needs at the Crisis Intervention Unit of the CSWDO, Molo, Iloilo City on May 16, 2025.
The activity entitled, “Engineers of Progress, Builders of Hope” aimed to build “more than just structures, but build support, empowerment, and brighter future for children with special needs”.
Led by PICE Iloilo Chapter President Engr. Alvin Patrick Tan, a short program was held where children with special needs were given the opportunity to have fun and showcase their talents while officers and members of the board gave words of inspiration.
School supplies including paper, portable whiteboard, craft materials, as well as learning materials, toiletries, infant formula, and toys were turned over by the organization. One child-friendly wheelchair was also provided for one of the beneficiaries.
The activity was done in collaboration with the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Breaking Barrier for Young Adults Training and Development Center (BBYA-TDC).
