The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Iloilo Chapter in partnership with Boysen Paints Philippines supported the annual Brigada Eskwela activity in Lapaz I Elementary School in Iloilo City on July 26, 2024.

Led by Chapter President Engr. Mavi Gustilo and joined by future civil engineers from the student chapters of PICE of the PHINMA University of Iloilo and the University of San Agustin, classrooms in the said elementary school were repainted to give the elementary pupils a fresh start for the school year.

The Brigada Eskwela event has been conceived through the country’s Department of Education as a way of ensuring the teaching-learning process become more effective and functional.

“This [benefits] not just the school but also the community that our institution envisions to shape,” shared Mr. Luis Lusaya, the school’s parent-teacher association president.

Paints were supplied by Boysen Paints Philippines, while chapter officers and volunteers from the student chapters rendered their services in painting the classrooms and some clearing works.
