The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – Iloilo Chapter organized a seminar on ports and harbors at the Phinma University of Iloilo on March 9, 2024.
PICE Fellow and former president and regional coordinator Engr. Antonio Belarga led the lectures. He is also an ASEAN Engineer and a former manager of the Engineering and Design Services of the Philippine Ports Authority.
Attended by civil engineering students from the said university, a series of lectures on port and harbor facilities and their importance were delivered.
Case studies of various ports from around the world as well as new civil engineering trends on port design and development were also discussed.
The activity was initiated by Engr. Marilou Tallador, Vice-President for Academe, of the PICE Iloilo Chapter, in coordination with civil engineering faculty members of the Phinma University of Iloilo and the PICE PUI Student Chapter.
